This side table was originally spray-painted in a yellowy cream. I wanted to emphasise the beautiful details and fine clear lines by painting it with Chalk Paint™. I decided to select a neutral palette – Old White and Country Grey to keep the style refined and simple.   A light coat of gold gilding  wax was applied onto the darker colour to create a slight antiqued finish. This classic piece would work well in a hallway with the addition of a small ornate rectangular gold mirror above it and a brass table lamp to complete the look.

The gifts featuring on top of the table, from left to right, are by jewellery designer Blaithin Ennis, ceramist Sarah McKenna and Eamonn O’Sullivan from Hewn. The bottom shelf shows a roses purse by Joany G. and more impressed bowls by Sarah McKenna.
