This small cabinet was originally spray-painted in a cool blue. Its definite oriental style made it easy to select the colour from the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint™ palette: Emperor Silk. The slender wooden hinges were first painted and then gold gilding wax was applied to colour-match the metal fitting.  This Chinese cabinet would work well in a hallway with the addition of an ornate round gold mirror above it.

The gifts featuring on top of the piece, from left to right, are: “Apple” greeting card by Gail Kelly and “Linen” diffuser by Field Day. The vintage fine china cup was found in a charity shop. The wall colour is Duck Egg Blue by Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.
